Alex Branka (he/him) is a freelance lighting designer, programmer, and technician based in Chicago. He was born and raised in the Bay Area, CA, and he recently received his BA in Theatre from Northwestern University. In addition to designing and working on dozens of productions on campus, Alex also served as the Equipment Manager for Northwestern’s Student Theatre Coalition for two years. He believes that lighting design helps create a world for the performance to inhabit, deepens the connection between the piece and its audience, and elevates the experience for performers and spectators alike.
